Company history

• 1951 – construction of Metallurgical combine (HUKO) started in 1951 based on decision of the Czech-Slovak Communist party. (original intension to build iron works).
• 1953 – building of Metallurgical combine was stopped due to unsuitable geological conditions. Iron works (today U.S. Steel Košice) started to be built in 1960.
• 1953 – 1998 – development of various types of production. From spiral welded pipes to production of prefabricated concrete products.
• 1998 – Valcovňa profilov a.s. was estabilished. The enterprise is focused on toll processing at slitting, decoiling, blanking and stockholding of flat rolled products.
